70-35
WATER-BASED HEAVY-DUTY CORROSION
PROTECTION
- State-of-the-art corrosion
protection for all metal surfaces
Use water-based 70-35 as a primer to
prevent the formation of corrosion on blank metals or to stop the progress of corrosion on
lightly rusted/ oxidized surfaces.
A coating thickness of 90 µm withstands a salt spray test of 500 hours carried out
according to DIN 50 021 respectively to DIN 53 167.
- Pretreatment of surfaces to
be coated
Thoroughly remove dirt, oil, grease, wax, silicone, loose paint, industrial or
similar soilings prior to coating (refer to Metaflux Specialist Cleaners). Heavily rusted
surfaces must be wire-brushed beforehand and cleaned from any soilings.
After cleaning, flush with ample drinking water. The surface can be coated when
still damp. Observe application temperature.
- Overpainting
Observe drying time. In general, all
paints and lacquers are suitable for overpainting. Avoid nitro-based paint-systems or
systems still containing chlorinated hydrocarbon solvents. Metaflux coatings such as 70-16
Liquid-Aluminium-, 70-56 Stainless-Steel-, 70-57 Copper-, and 70-58 Brass-Spray are well
suited.
Test always for compatibility especially if overcoating by systems with high
solvent content and/or aggressive solvents is intended.
- Economic in use
Heavy corrosion protection requires 1
kg per 4 to 6 m2; for lighter protection 1 kg per 10 to 12 m2 is sufficient.
- Easy cleaning of paint-tools
Brushes, spraying devices etc. can be
cleaned with water provided 70-35 is still viscous.
